Margaux Frohlich is a Franco-American soprano originally from Paris, France, but is now based in New York. She has performed in a wide range of repertoire for, Händel, to Massenet, to Janacek, to Britten. This is May she will be performing in “La Traviata” with Regina Opera Company. She is currently pursuing a Professional Studies Certificate with the Manhattan School of Music. To mark the end of her schooling, she had the chance to perform the opening scene of “Lucio Silla” as Cinna, performing the aria “Vieni o’ve amor t’invito” in Manhattan School of Music’s Opera Scenes Program as well as “Betty Parris” in Robert Wards “The Crucible”. Last May, Margaux made her Italy debut as “La Fée” in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon. She performed as a guest artist alongside Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s young artist program “Fabbrica”, a selective group of eight young singers. This was conducted by Maestro Carlo Donadio and directed by Antonella Lo Bianco. During her Master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music, Margaux performed the role of “Mustardseed” in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Manhattan School of Music’s Graduate Opera Theatre in Neidorff Karpati Hall, conducted by George Manahan and directed by John de los Santos. In her earlier training years, Margaux trained at “Chicago Summer Opera” where she performed “Almirena” in Händel’s Rinaldo directed by Greg Eldridge and conducted by Curtis Serafin, the role of “Noémie” in Massenet’s Cendrillon directed by Colter Schoenfish as director and conducted by Michael Pecack as conductor. Even during the pandemic in 2020, Margaux was able to make her Peabody Opera Theatre debut as “Flora” in Benjamin Britten’s Turn of the Screw. Apart from from opera productions, Margaux participated in Sewanee’s Winter Opera Fest program started by Laura Brooks Rice. During this online program in January 2021, Margaux was able to get musical and acting coachings from Metropolitan Opera staff Bryan Wagorn, Howard Watkins and Gina Lapinski to name a few of the faculty members. She returned in the summer of 2024 to continue training with LBR as well and the rest of the coaches from opera coaches around the US and Canada. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree under the tutelage of Randall Scarlata in May 2022. In May 2024, she graduated with her Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Ruth Golden and will be continuing her studies to complete the Professional Studies Certificate continuing her studies with Ruth Golden.
